Back in the day, getting cannabis delivered right to your door was a rare luxury. Nowadays, you can place a cannabis order online through Firebird Delivery, and soon after have a cannabis delivery person knocking on your door (and just as important, leaving right after). When you order with us you can even receive your order same-day (if you order before 6pm) or within the same hour if you choose rush delivery.
Cannabis delivery is still relatively new, which makes it hard to know exactly what to do. Firebird Delivery is here with our cannabis delivery tips to make sure that when you place a weed delivery order in Canada, it’ll go as smoothly as possible so you can get down to enjoying your product.
Delivery Tips When Ordering Cannabis
Make Sure They Know Exactly Where to Go
Let your delivery person know where to go and what to do when they arrive. If your doorbell doesn’t work and they need to knock really loud, let your cannabis delivery person know by typing that into the “Delivery Instructions” field when you’re placing the order. Similarly, if your door is actually around the corner, or they need to buzz an intercom, type that in. The more info your cannabis delivery person has beforehand, the easier and faster it will be to hand you your product.
Meet Them Downstairs or Outside
To protect the safety of our employees, Firebird Delivery requires our customers meet their delivery person in the lobby or front entrance of an apartment building or condo rather than going into the building. So even if you type “C’mon up to the second floor :)” they’ll ask to meet you on the ground floor. Additionally, it’s important to note that if you have a door person or other assistance that regularly retrieves packages for you, they will not be able to accept the order, you’ll still need to collect it yourself.
Don’t Forget Your ID
Only adults are allowed to place delivery orders, so an adult has to be there to receive the order. Be sure to have your ID ready. This, of course, might seem like a no-brainer, but it can be one awkward shuffle when you realize your ID isn’t where you thought it was and delivery is at the door. Firebird Delivery requires the customer who placed the order to show their ID to the delivery person — the name on your ID must match the name on the credit or debit card used.
As cannabis is for adults only, and violating this can open employees and companies up to legal trouble, delivery people are going to be extra cautious. So, as one of our extra cannabis delivery tips — if you’re an adult who’s still getting carded at the bars, have two forms of ID on hand when the delivery person arrives. If the delivery person is glancing over your baby-face and has any doubt that you are younger than the legal purchasing age of 19 (or 18 in Alberta and 21 in Quebec), they’d much rather risk a bad customer review than a bad legal outcome. A little preparation can go a long way.
Double Check Your Delivery Order
Every dispensary we work with, and every cannabis delivery driver, is doing their best to make sure the cannabis that you paid for is the same as the cannabis you have in hand. However, mistakes do happen, which is why one of our cannabis delivery tips is to make sure you check your order the moment the cannabis delivery person hands it over. The dispensary may have packed the order wrong, or the driver may have grabbed the wrong bag from their car, and it’s best to figure out what happened before your delivery person leaves the property.
If you checked too late and want a refund on your order, your best bet is to call or email the dispensary and discuss it with us. Be sure to send an email over to firstname.lastname@example.org with a photo of your original order and the order that you received. As long as you realize this early enough, a new, correct order will be rushed out to you the same day.
